Boats Without Borders operates as a non-profit entity and has formally submitted its application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. This filing is currently under active regulatory review. Upon final confirmation from the IRS, tax-exempt status will be applied retroactively to this period, enabling us to provide compliant, back-dated donation receipts for your tax records.

Because our fleet is comprised of privately owned volunteer vessels, Boats Without Borders operates with exceptionally low overhead in comparison to the extent of operations that we are building. Your donation doesn't go toward buying or maintaining vessels; instead, it directly funds:
Direct Humanitarian Aid: Procuring and delivering life-sustaining supplies during the critical first 3 to 10 days of a crisis.
Specialized Fleet Training & Coordination: Ensuring our crews and land teams meet rigorous safety and multi-sectoral assessment standards.
Our Flagship Fleet Insurance: This is the key that unlocks the fleet. Historically, insurance restrictions blocked private sailors from participating in disaster relief, leaving early-stage community needs unmet. By sponsoring this vital insurance coverage, your donation safely mobilizes a massive network of rapid-response vessels.
-
Absolutely. We are actively scaling our network and are seeking dedicated partners and volunteers across the following core areas:
On the Water: Caribbean-based skippers and vessel owners ready to integrate into our fleet structure.
On the Ground: Marinas, local businesses, and island leadership to serve as logistics hubs, supply-acquisition partners, or receiving coordinators in impacted zones.
Subject Matter Experts: Maritime, humanitarian, and austere/remote medical professionals willing to lead training webinars and educational sessions for our fleet.
Operational Support: Logistics coordinators, supply chain professionals, and corporate partners providing in-kind donations.
Strategic Growth: Philanthropic partners, donors, and grant writers to help fund our ongoing missions and expand our fleet insurance coverage.

Yes, we highly value in-kind donations, especially during active hurricane deployments. > To ensure that material goods match real-time needs on the ground, we manage all physical donations through our Disaster Deck platform. By creating a volunteer or partner profile, you can access our live data stream to view verified shortages, see exactly what cargo our fleet is currently prioritizing, and directly support supply acquisition.
-
Absolutely. We would be privileged to carry their legacy forward with our fleet.
A donation made in honor or memory of a loved one ensures that their passion for the sea and helping others lives on. During the checkout process, you can log a tribute gift along with an optional message. We will send a dedicated acknowledgment to the family, sharing how this tribute is helping us bridge the gap in disaster response and navigate aid to communities during their most critical days.(We would need to add a few fields to your donation form to back up this tex):
Checkbox: "Is this gift in honor or memory of someone?"
Text Field: "Name of the honoree"
Optional Field: "Recipient Email for notification" (and have the platform automatically send them a beautifully designed BWB certificate or email acknowledging the tribute).
If this is possible, let me know, and I can design a certificate or email acknowledgement)
